THE MELVIN THOMAS

So Drake dropped his first single “Over” from the Thank Me Later album on Thursday. My bro Meezyy tweeted that he had already heard two freestyles over the beat. I think feel like that is slightly disrespectful. I have no problem with jackin’ for beats, but at least give people the chance to hear the real song first. I guarantee somebody heard one of those freestyles and thought “damn, that beat is hot.” Hence the name of this post “LET  THAT B***H BREATHE.” This is probably how Just Blaze felt after “Exhibit C” dropped. I might feel like this because I’m a producer. I remember around the time Soundtrack to Greatness dropped rapper’s started hitting me up saying “I’ma get on your shit and rip it.” This is before it even came out!!! I felt some way about that. [sidenote: I wouldn't mind so much now because it has been out for awhile.] The moral of the story is this… RESPECT PEOPLE’S ART.
